For almost 50 years Sotheby’s Institute of Art has been preparing students for careers in the international art world. Our vision is to be universally acknowledged as the premier provider of advanced object-based art education, whose graduates combine passion for the visual arts with scholarship, connoisseurship and market sophistication in order to flourish as leaders in the global art market.
The Institute’s educational centres in London, New York and Los Angeles offer various Master’s degrees (12 months), semester courses (15 weeks) and summer study (4 weeks) specializing in Art Business, Contemporary Art, Fine & Decorative Art and Design, and Asian Art. Our graduates usually become ‘experts’ or assume management positions in auction houses, art fairs, commercial galleries, museums, art foundations and private collections or work as ‘consultants’ in the fields of art investment and valuation, art law or art insurance.
Degrees and courses at Sotheby’s Institute of Art (London) are validated by the University of Manchester. Financial aid and scholarships are available.
