South and East Museums Federation
The South and East Museums Federation started life in the 1930s and is one of nine Federations established in Britain to promote museums and museum workers at a regional level. It is an independent membership organisation which aims to promote, support and develop our members on a local and national level.
Membership of the is open to everyone working in museums and galleries in the South and East region. This includes the counties of Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Oxfordshire and the unitary authority areas of Luton, Milton Keynes and Peterborough.
Our members include professionals working in large and small museum, volunteers, students and freelance consultants. The Federation is governed by a committee but is membership led.
Members benefit from networking opportunities, behind the scenes visits and an annual study trip. Everyone is welcome, why not join us.
