Southend Youth Council

Southend Youth Council aims to give young people a voice and have a say in what is happening in Southend. Southend Youth Council is made up of Youth Councillors from across Southend aged 11-18 who work hard to represent the views of young people to decision makers both locally and nationally.

The Youth Council is chaired by Youth Mayor John Jenkins and Deputy Youth Mayor Edward Feddon and supported by the Member of UK Youth Parliament for Southend, Isreal Genius.

New members are always welcome to attend; you can just come along and complete an application form on the night and you'll be registered. Meetings follow an Agenda which usually includes guest speakers, campaign updates, a Monthly (lively) debate on a current topic and an opportunity for Youth Councillors to feedback on what they've been doing during the Month and any concerns they may have to bring to the Youth Councillors on behalf of the young people in Southend.

If you would like to attend please come along to the next meeting; if you're coming by yourself we'll arrange for one of our experienced Youth Councillors to show you around, introduce you to the Youth Council and answer any questions.

If you want to stay up to date with the Southend Youth Council or talk to us about something that interests or concerns you in Southend then please email YouthMayor@Southend.gov.uk.
