The Bishop of Derby has been leading extensively in anti-slavery work both internationally and nationally. As a member of the House of Lords he supported the groundbreaking Modern Slavery Act through Parliament to Royal Ascent in 2015. He is the Archbishop of Canterbury's representative for modern slavery working alongside the Vatican and global business leaders; he is the Chair of the Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner's Advisory Panel; and a founding member of the Derby & Derbyshire Modern Slavery Partnership. Locally he has hosted numerous modern slavery awareness raising events including for schools and business.
