The Huguenot Summer 2015 programme of events celebrates the people, places, and legacy of the Huguenots. Attend the wide range of talks, walks and other events to learn more about the innovation and skills these immigrants – the first refugees - brought to England, when forced to flee religious persecution in France and other parts of Europe during the 16th-18th centuries. Events will take place in London, centred around Spitalfields, and further afield in towns and cities throughout England where Huguenots settled, including Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton, Winchester, Colchester, Norwich, Rochester, Kettering and Sudbury. Their stories are diverse and extraordinary demonstrations of determination and talent, and their influence is still felt today.
Further events than those listed here will be taking place; please visit www.huguenotsofspitalfields.org to find out more details and where to book.
