The Swan Youth Project
The Swan Youth Centre in Berkhamsted High Street, is open every day in term time and sometimes during the school holidays for everyone aged 13-18. It provides:-
Somewhere to go: a place to go to relax, chill out, meet friends work on a computer or listen to music.
Something to do: rehearse in the band room, play pool, learn a new skill, join a debate, volunteer, listen to a talk, go on a trip.
Someone to listen: to provide support and information to help young people make informed choices about addictive substances, mental health, and relationships.
The Youth Centre is staffed by qualified Youth Workers who are supported by volunteers.
The Centre runs a Volunteer Programme for the young people who participate in the organisation and running of the Centre, enabling them to learn valuable skills and gain confidence in the process. The Scheme qualifies as community service for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
