Train to Campaign

'Train to Campaign' is run by Harmit Kambo.

I am a highly experienced campaigner and communications strategist, holding a postgraduate degree from the London College of Communications.

I was the Campaigns Director of internationally renowned Privacy International between 2015 and 2024, leading pubic-facing campaigns, managing PI’s brand and overseeing press and communications.

I am an experienced trainer and facilitator, having led the national learning and development programme at the Sheila McKechnie Foundation between 2012-2014, and running the training consultancy ‘Train to Campaign’ since 2015. I have provided training directly to probably over 1,000 people across large and small charities, and grassroots community groups and activists.

As well as campaigning and communications, I have in-depth experience as a grant fundraiser and as a grant maker. I have raised over £3m through small and large scale funding bids to the Treasury’s Invest to Save Budget, the European Social Fund, the London Development Agency, the Oak Foundation, the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, The Baring Foundation, Trust for London, the Lloyds Bank Foundation, the London Housing Foundation, The Tudor Trust and others.
