The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by the late Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electricity Company and the Dubai Water Department. Today, DEWA is an inspiring success story known for its efficiency and reliability in every facet of its operations. 

The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy is the governing body tasked with policy development, and planning and coordinating with concerned authorities and energy bodies to deliver new energy sources while employing a balanced approach to protecting the environment.

WETEX is a meeting ground for experts and specialists from various sectors including electricity, water, and environment technologies. Over the years, the exhibition has succeeded in attracting leading international companies and organizations, building on the pioneering position of Dubai as a global hub for finance, business, and tourism.
