Wynstones School

Wysntones Steiner Waldorf School was founded in 1937, since which time it has adapted Rudolf Steiner's insights into education to fit with today's changing needs.  The well-established school aims to equip young people intellectually, emotionally, spiritually and socially.  Wynstones welcomes pupils from early years to graduation (aged 3-18), achieving outstanding academic results while ensuring that each pupil receives the full spectrum of subjects. The teaching strives to engage and nourish each child’s curiosity and love of learning by offering a balance of academic, artistic and practical lessons.

In the Early Years Programs (aged 3-6), Wynstones provides a nourishing Kindergarten for children through their formative years.  In the Lower and Middle School (ages 6-14) children thrive in a secure learning environment, where they begin unfolding into independent adults.  In the Upper School and 6th Form (ages 14-18) students continue with the international Waldorf curriculum alongside their chosen and core GCSE and A Level exam subjects.  This past year 100% of pupils achieved 5 or more GCSE passes at grade A* to C, inclusive of English and Maths, making us one of the top schools in the region for GCSE results, ahead of other leading independent schools. Last year's results were way above the national average but this year's are even better.  This comes on top of a great set of A level results, where 65% of all exams yielded grades A* - B.   It's great to see our students achieve outstanding results, as exams are only a small part of what we do.  Our true empahsis is to encourage the development of free thought, creativity, and self-confidence.
