Case Study: Ball Mania Reach New Audiences with Eventbrite Discovery Platform

Tell us about your event. How did it get started? Who is it aimed at?

Ball Mania is about giving our audience a few hours away from the worries of ‘adult life’ while immersing themselves in a giant ball pit.  For our upcoming events, we’re rolling up at carefully selected sites around the UK, with a ball pit of 200,000+ balls – along with decent tunes and giant adult sized inflatables – to produce a truly unique and uplifting experience.

Following on from sell-out success in both Manchester and Birmingham, each person that joins us at one our upcoming events in Liverpool, Leeds, Bristol, Sheffield, Derby, or York will be able to experience something, that, by growing up has been taken away from us.

Ball Mania was started to give that experience back to people. We want to create moments and memories that people will be able to back in years to come and say, “wow that was pretty cool, remember when Ball Mania came to town”.

The spark came when the hotel pool abroad couldn’t be used as it wasn’t heated. What better way to make it a year-round attraction by filling it with balls?! 18 months later, I had quit my job and was focusing on an epic nationwide plan to bring the experience to as many people as possible throughout the country.

Why did you move your ticketing over to Eventbrite?

We decided to move our ticketing over to Eventbrite as we wanted to improve the booking and checkout experience we were offering our customers. Using Eventbrite has enabled us to provide our customers with a reliable booking process, that is safe, secure and via a trusted third party.

Eventbrite has also enabled us to take advantage of their discovery platform, serving and promoting our events to other customers outside of our normal reach.

What challenge has it helped you solve?

Reporting and analytics are certainly helpful – but a great customer experience is critical to driving our business.

Focusing on providing a trusted, reliable ticketing solution that works first time, every time, for each customer also sets a really good first impression.

What are your future plans?

We are looking to continue to grow rapidly to become the UK’s leading supplier of giant adult only ball pits for both public and private events. We are excited to continue our work with both regional and national brands to offer many more adults the nostalgic experience of jumping around in a giant colourful, playful and exciting ball pit.
