Presentations from How To Promote Your Music Event Like A Pro

We held our second How To Session last week on music promotion and event marketing on a budget.

Thanks to Gavin Sharp, the CEO of Band on the Wall, a highly-regarded not-for-profit music venue in Manchester. Gavin’s been at Band on the Wall for a number of years and has worked in the music industry for over 30. He’s particularly knowledgeable about music event promotion and budgeting, and chatted away on the subject to an attentive audience. He could have continued all night if there was time, his slides are below for a recap.

Also presenting was our very own Regional Marketing Manager for Europe, Katie McPhee. She gave an overview of Eventbrite, as well as some useful marketing and budgeting tips that can be applied by organisers of events of any kind and size. Her slides are also included below.

Topics included:

  • Budgeting – it’s a numbers game and is the first thing you should do when organising an event
  • Building a solid community
  • Ticketing tips and how to create an event page that stands out
  • Knowing your audience and tailoring content to them
  • Email marketing and growing your mailing list

Don’t forget to sign up to our next session – How To Innovate Events With New Technology, on April 8th at Manchester Metropolitan’s Digital Innovation Lab. The free event will feature lightning presentations from lecturers at the uni, Future Everything and Eventbrite.
