Aert Workshops is run by artist Aimee Labourne, who lives in Shetland, Scotland.Offering inclusive opportunities for individuals, groups and communities to develop drawing skills, Aert Workshops brings together varied drawing practices with creative exploration of environment. Inspired by the Shetland landscape, Aert Workshops takes its name from its locality - in Shetland dialect ‘aert’ means earth. By participating in a Aert workshop, you will learn new skills, expand your creative practice, and access a welcoming and enjoyable social experience.Aimee’s art practice is grounded in observational drawing as a means of orientation and immersion. Drawing in the landscape of Shetland leads to expanded space in picture making and explorations of ambiguous surfaces and forms which consider our complex relationship with nature.
