Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage.

Local historian Stuart Miller examines six aspects of the development of modern Sunderland from the 1780s to the 1880s. Each session will last for two hours including a break of 30 minutes to sample our coffee and cake!

Once a month The Old Black Cat Jazz Club get together for a toe tapping and swinging evening of the best Jazz music the UK has to offer.
