Low farm is a specialist breeder of rare Mangalitza pedigree pigs and is about 200 acres in size. The farm also produces barley which is then fed to the pigs. This is the largest Magalitza herd in the UK and is the only farm to produce Mangalitza black pudding. The pigs are reared until they are 3 years of age and then they become meat, fat and charcuterie. The farm supplies 2* and 3* Michelin restaurants as well as 4* and 5* hotels in London and Yorkshire.
At 7.00pm guests will arrive at the National Centre for Birds of Prey within Duncombe Park where there will be a demonstration from some of the birds of prey.
The National Centre for Birds of Prey is set in the most wonderful ancient woodlands of Duncombe Park on the outskirts of Helmsley. Duncombe Park has a long history of Falconry and more details about the centre can be found at http://www.ncbp.co.uk/
At around 7:30pm there will be a BBQ with sausages and burgers made from Mangalitza pork meat as well as other meaty products, salads and potatoes.
Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and comfortable shoes for a walk around the farm, if taking the tour.
It is important that you let us know in advance if you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies for this event. The organisers can only provide vegetarian options if they know by no later than 24th June 2016. After this date, we are sorry but we are unable to cater for you.
This is a working farm and you must abide by any instructions given to you.
