1 Day - An Introduction to Lime at Folkestone Campus

This one day practical course is ideal for homeowners, professionals, builders and craftsmen at all levels to gain "hands-on" experience in using traditional lime and techniques to repair and maintain old buildings.
This course covers fundamental aspects of the use, preparation and curing times of Lime, the history and usage, selecting sands, types of Lime and the use of hair in mortar, as well as the different mixing techniques and applications. Each session includes a practical demonstration and then participants are encouraged to have a go themselves, with guidance at hand.

All tools, materials & safety goggles and gloves are provided but we ask course atendees to wear suitable clothing and footwear for this type of activity. Some light refreshments provided by EKC catering department.
