About this event

What is Ecotherapy? How can we bring it into our lives and work?

This workshop will benefit people interested personally in the use of Ecotherapy as well as professionals interested in using eco-therapeutic practices with their clients. We will look at the history of Ecotherapy and its current role and value in society. Discussion and practical activities will help to strengthen an individual relationship with Nature in order to develop your personal or professional practice.

Directions

Getting to Stanmer Park

Buses

The very frequent 25 bus service from Brighton drops you outside Stanmer Park Gates at The Lower Lodges on Stoney Mere Way.

The hourly 78 bus from the Steine and Lewes Rd, now comes all the way up into Stanmer Park to Stanmer Village church.

Train

Falmer train station has an under pass and 400m walkway leading round to the left, to the entrance to Stanmer Park.

Car

From the A27 take the exit for Stanmer Park and University and come along Stoneymere Way and through the park gates.

Finding C4E in Stanmer Park – from Stanmer Park gates

– the nearest post code BN1 9SE, is for the One Garden and both Centre for Ecotherapy plots are a 10-minute walk up beyond that.

Walk – 20 mins brisk walk

To walk up through the park, use the new path that starts opposite the kiosk cafe ‘Circa in the Park’ in the lefthand car park, just inside Stanmer Park entrance. This is great for looking at the trees and listening to the birds.

Driving - 5 mins

Walk or drive up through the park passing Stanmer House on your left.

At the T-junction turn left and come along towards The One Garden entrance.

Take the lane to the right of the One Garden and keep going straight ahead alongside the buildings and over the speed bumps.

Before the woods, the lane turns right just in front of big wood chip piles and continues up the hill on a very rutted lane.

Please park your car under the trees on the left opposite the allotment plot.

Allotment Plot

The C4E's Allotment Plot is 50m up on your right-hand side.

Wilderness Plot

For C4E’s Wilderness Plot continue walking up the hill for 30m, through the tree tunnel and turn to the left around the 5-bar metal gate, into the Stanmer Organics project.

C4E’s Wilderness Plot is the first entrance on the right.
