The Seeds of Change Workshops

About this Event

For 15 years Katherine Dillon and her Seeds of Change Co-Founder Rachael Frossell have worked with thousands of clients to transform their lives, using horses.

During this time they have developed their own unique 'TSOC approach' to programmes which constantly push the boundaries of what can be achieved through interaction with horses.

As practitioners they have built a highly regarded and successful company who now employ almost 20 people and who's work is constantly in demand across the UK.

This 1 day introduction will offer an insight into how they have grown and developed into one of the country's leading organisations using EFL working with young people.

The day is suitable for teachers, social workers, family support workers, psychologists, parents, mental health professionals and others who have an interest in practising or utilising EFL to bring about lasting life changes.

What you will learn:

  • Our passion - why we do what we do
  • The evolution of The Seeds of Change Approach & it's constant renewal
  • The development of client led programmes
  • The structure and delivery of the programmes
  • How to be a good practitioner
  • The impact of the programmes & how they really can turn lives around

What you will experience:

  • The immersive culture and belief of The Seeds of Change
  • Honest, no nonsense and frank experience of building and growing an EFL business
  • Practical and interactive experience of the work
  • The chance to ask questions and hear from people who have experienced delivering this work to those with often very complex needs

What you will take away:

  • A greater understanding of what it takes to be an effective EFL practitioner
  • How client led programmes are developed and coached
  • Knowledge of the versatility and success of EFL when carried out responsibly and knowledgeably
  • Certificate of completion

Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Due to Covid safety measures, we ask that participants bring their own packed lunch. Refreshments will be available.

No horse experience necessary as there is no riding involved. You will not be qualified to practice EFL upon completing the workshop.

Background:

14 years ago, Katherine Dillon and Rachael Frossell established The Seeds of Change because they both believed passionately in improving life chances for young people who, through no fault of their own, may be struggling to engage in school, due to past life events or trauma.

During this time they have seen this work grow and develop with many issues presented, reflecting the social change in our societies.

Their client base is also changing and they are now working with more families, adults and very young children too.

In addition to working with many of the hard hitting challenges facing young people such as drugs, gangs, county lines, and exploitation, they also work extensively with conditions that impact on a wider demographic: self harm, eating disorders, anxiety, post traumatic stress and family breakdown.

Using horses in their own bespoke equine facilitated approach (TSOC approach) they have helped many clients to make changes in their lives, that really have enabled them to rewrite their life story.
