🎃 Paddleboarding Witches & Glow Swim at Plas y Brenin 👻

This Halloween, we’re turning the lake at Plas y Brenin into something truly spooky…
🌊 From 2pm – 5pm: join us for half-hour paddleboarding sessions. Come in fancy dress and help us fill the lake with as many witches, wizards, warlocks (and other spooky characters!) as possible. Costumes are highly encouraged – the more creative the better!
✨ At 5pm: as the sun sets, watch the water come alive in our Glow Swim. Open water swimmers can choose between a fun 25m dip (DUSK DIP) or a 1km illuminated swim across the lake, with glow sticks and lights attached to swimmers (DUSK DISTANCE 1KM)
Please ensure you are booking the correct slot for the correct activity!
All profits from the event will be reinvested into training more open water lifeguards – so by joining in, you’ll be helping make swimming in our community safer too.
💸 Prices
- Paddleboarding (30 minutes): £10 per board
- Ages 8–10 can share a board with an adult (one ticket)
- Ages 10+ have their own board
- Glow Swim 25m: £5 (over 18s only)
- Glow Swim 1km: £10 (over 18s only)
🧙♀️ What’s included
- Paddleboard, buoyancy aid (for SUP sessions)
- Glow sticks for swimmers
🧳 What to bring
- Fancy dress (that you don’t mind getting wet!) (for SUP only - no fancy dress for swimmers please)
- Wetsuit (essential for 1km swim, optional for 25m dip or paddleboarding)
- Tow float (for 1km swim if you have one)
- Suitable footwear (Crocs, flip-flops, water shoes)
- Towel & warm layers for afterwards
- Optional extras for swimmers: wetsuit gloves, wetsuit socks, swim cap or warm hat

Our qualified SUP instructors and open water lifeguards will be on the water throughout, keeping everyone safe while you have fun.

The Plas y Brenin bar/café will be open for hot drinks and snacks all afternoon.
