Event description
Would you like to increase your knowledge and confidence in supporting LGBTU+ young people? This is the online training for you!

About this Event

"It was great! Very informative, well presented, engaging, and relevant to our work. " Educational Psycologist (April 2020)

Allsorts Youth Project has been delivering training to professionals, and support services to LGBT+ young people for over 20 years.

Now is an opportune time to undertake training to increase knowledge and confidence in the workplace. Allsorts Training & Education Service offers high-quality online LGBT+ training aimed at those supporting, or likely to be supporting, LGBT+ young people.

3 different levels of LGBT+ Training:

We offer three different options tailored to suit your time, budget, and training needs. The core content will be the same in all sessions, however, the longer session will go into much more depth and leave more time for questions and answers.

All sessions will be delivered by our experienced trainer, supported by an LGBT+ young person who will speak about their lived experience.

Benefits and learning outcomes:

  1. Explore the challenges faced by LGBTU+ children and young people and the impact of these on their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
  2. Examine current LGBTU+ terminology and explore common myths about LGBTU+.
  3. Examine relevant legislation and how this applies to organisations providing services.
  4. Explore how to identify and challenge homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying, insults and language.
  5. Examine how to create an LGBT+ inclusive and safer-space environment

1 Hour Session | Tuesday 14th July, 10:00 -11:00 | £20.00

This session is aimed at people who feel they already have good knowledge and confidence in understanding and supporting LGBT+ young people, but would like a quick refresher session to check their knowledge is up to date. This session will not have a Q&A.

"It is a key training for anyone working with young people, their families and schools." Youth Advice Worker (June 2020)
