Event description

Description

Sponsored by Yours Business Networks and run by Swarm Hive, the seminar is designed to allow enterprising business owners & managers to network with like-minded people in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere – it’s networking at a reasonable hour of the day, without the referrals, pressure, and cost of some networking groups. finishing in time to allow for a normal day’s business.

We’re really excited that, included in the hour, we have Phillip Brown as our fantastic guest speaker:

Phillip is a full-time data protection consultant specialising in the GDPR, and therefore has a complete and in-depth knowledge of the challenges concerning the fast approaching GDPR.

A former mobile telecoms consultant specialising in mobile conformance test standards and mobile handset certification, Phillip has 12 years’ experience in the challenges of complex launches, and creating robust solutions to those challenges.

Phillip is also a former Army communications officer, holding a variety of command positions, plus information systems project management over a twenty-year career. These skills are crucial in identifying and implementing strategic solutions for complex, and fluid situations.

Phillip will seek to give a brief overview of the impending GDPR. With huge experience in the area, he will seek to give clarity to the subject. Phillip will also be happy to answer any questions you may have after the meeting. During his talk, Phillip will briefly look to cover:

1. setting the scene

2. the underlying principles

3. lawfulness of processing

4. general conditions for consent

5. the rights of data subjects

6. what we, as data citizens, may expect with the enforcement of the GDPR
