About this Event

Drawing the Frontline

Our online series of live War Art Talks will take place on Zoom.

Hosted by Company of Makers co-founder Rachel, with special guest, professional Artist, Pete Codling who'll share his insights into this fascinating aspect of art.

Talk 10 of 10: Drawn to Tears and Laughter

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think”During your time in Service you will have met all walks of life and characters. Unlike the previous sessions focused on the darker sides of the art produced in war, let us remember that you also often laughed in the face of adversary. You have a sense of humour unique to your colleagues and friends. You have fond memories, as well as terrors, happy as well as sad in the friendships and camaraderie you share, long after the uniform comes off. Lets have a look at a brilliant artist and soldier, whose drawings, wisdom and stories have passed down through the generations. This one will surprise you.

Let's look at some of these amazing artists and ask...

"How does war affect art and vice versa?"

These are 'live talks'!

So please: Be ready and be on time
