Description

'100 Years Young – futureproofing Generation Alpha’

Tickets are now available for 100 Years Young – Futureproofing Generation Alpha, a not-to-be missed conference for anyone who works with young people.

Featuring an impressive line-up of expert speakers, the one day event on Wednesday 26 September at Safety Central, Lymm, Cheshire, will shine the spotlight on educating, engaging and safeguarding young people, in particular how we can target Generation Alpha, young people born after 2011 and predicted to be the most transformative generation ever.

The conference speakers have been drawn from the breadth of the sector and will explore issues such as firesetting, arson, anti-social behaviour, changing behaviours and how digital experiences can help futureproof the young. We are delighted that taking the stage will be:

Cllr Sara Rowbotham, Deputy Leader of Rochdale Borough Council and former sexual health worker who exposed the Rochdale grooming scandal. Sara has recently been honoured with the NHS Heroes Special Recognition award for her dedication, commitment and courage to the 47 young girls identified as victims in Rochdale, resulting in the conviction of 19 men.
Phil Garrigan, Chief Fire Officer, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and National Fire Chiefs Council Children and Young Persons lead. The UK Fire and Rescue Service has a statutory duty to promote fire safety, placing the prevention of fires at the heart of their activity. The engagement and education of children and young people is just one way in which this is fulfilled.
Joanna Foster, Director at fabtic, working with at-risk children and young people. Specialising in firesetting behaviour, Fabtic has extensive experience in working with at-risk children, managing frontline staff and supervising volunteers.
Jeff Coghlan, founder of interactivity-emphasised web experience agency Matmi. Jeff and his team created Sparkton for CFRS, an educational fire safety platform which they now supply to many UK fire and rescue services.
George Martin, Fire and Rescue Service National Liaison Officer at The Prince’s Trust. George will be accompanied by a young person who has benefited from The Prince’s Trust programme.

Places on 100 Years Young – futureproofing Generation Alpha cost £99+VAT for IFE members, public and third sector representatives and £125+VAT for non-members and private sector delegates.

Parking is available at Safety Central but, if you prefer to let the train take the strain, there will be a free shuttle service between Warrington Bank Quay station and Safety Central.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
