Event description
1000 Black Boys is the Social Enterprise arm of Get Hench and is committed to inspiring Black Boys and young Black Men (10-25 years).

About this Event

1000 Black Boys is the Social Enterprise arm of Get Hench and is committed to inspiring Black Boys and young Black Men (10-25 years) to unleash their potential and live a life full of purpose. We organise Inspirational events with our Partners to achieve this objective.

We have all experienced an unprecedented lockdown and we are seeing it's effects on our community! Stop and search, racism and inequality is still all around us. We know that we and our young people have incredible power, so we want to do something about all of this.

This event is aimed at Black Boys and Young Black Men aged 10-25 years old. As with all of our events Parents, Grandparents, siblings and those who want to make difference to this generation are welcome. We know that it takes a village to raise a child.

This event will have Inspirational Speakers, Coaches and Mentors who are passionate about Black Boys, young Black Men and the Black Community. There will be workshops and mindset sessions to empower you as we come out of the lockdown.

There are 3 category of tickets - 1. FREE tickets, 2. Donation tickets, if you would like to make a donation, 3. Family Coaching tickets which include a 60 minute coaching session for parent(s) and child PLUS the FREE tickets.

We are passionate about making a difference to our community, so if you are able to make a donation that will support us to keep doing what we are doing.

There are 4 main objectives to our events:

1. We want to provide Black Boys and young Black Men with inspiration and hope.

2. We want to give organisations that are doing great work with young people a platform to speak and showcase what they do.

3. We want to connect these organisations together so that they can provide an even stronger provision for those that need it.

4. We want to give Black Boys and young Black Men access to these organisations so that they can provide them with continuing mentorship, apprenticeships or whatever support they need post event.

Our events include inspirational talks, workshops and sessions from people who know how to engage young people and their parents. Topics range from building mental resilience, improving relationships between fathers and sons, mental health, support with children who are about to be excluded or are excluded from school, support with children who are involved with gangs, stop & search, advice for parents and many more topics.

So that Black Boys, young Black Men, their parents and those who support them get the mental, physical and emotional support they need.
