Learning Outcomes

• Explore the skills you need for managing your career and assess your current situation – your strengths and areas to focus on related to work opportunities*

• Explore the importance of personal effectiveness and impact on others when working towards your goals, i.e. your confidence, self-belief and proactivity

• Recognise how networking can help you get to where you want to be

• Discuss job searching in an ever-changing work environment

• Set goals and actions for your future

The session will provide a safe space to meet with your colleagues to discuss ideas, reflect on experience and support one another relating to life after PhD.

A key part of this discussion will be around helping you to look at what you can take control of to maximise chances of career success.
*NB: Pre-work will be sent in advance of the online workshop for you to complete so you get the most out of this session.
