‘Looking at the big picture’: Ethics in science communication and engagement

Are you doing/or are you interested in doing participatory research? Are you interested in exploring the ethical considerations of communication and engagement of science and health research? If so, come and join our lunchtime sharing practice get-together!

Join Professor Clare Wilkinson from the Science Communication Unit, UWE Bristol as she considers the ethics involved in science communication and engagement. Clare will discuss the ethical dimensions that researchers and practitioners communicating and engaging about science and health related topics need to consider and share some of the key findings from a research project she has led, INSIGHT. Through this project, Clare will consider some of the ethical ramifications of communication and engagement, including questions it raises about power, access, purpose, autonomy, privacy, and values.

Clare will share some of the key findings from the research and open up opportunities for discussion.

Who is this for?

This is an informal and safe space for University of Bath researchers to share with peers and reflect on your practice. We are hoping to create a community of practice where researchers can share their stories, methodologies, and ethics approach.
