11 - Garden Make Over- Crumlin - 10 Volunteers
Fri 12 May 2017, 09:00 – 17:00 BST
Kendon Community Hall was built approximately
five years ago.
Although the building is in good condition and
well maintained there are some outside areas that would greatly benefit from
volunteer support. To the side of the building there is some rough ground and an
overgrown area about 25 foot x 30 foot in size. The community group would like
the overgrown bramble, plants etc. to be cut back and removed. The area could
then be covered in a basic membrane with wood chippings laid to prevent
regrowth. Planting of some low maintenance shrubs in the area would also be
welcome. The area is surrounded by a wooden fence which while in good condition
needs to be re-stained in natural wood colour. There is also an old wooden sign
that would need to be removed.
Tasks: Cutting back vegetation Planting Staining Basic gardening
The Community group may have some limited funds to supply wood chippings however volunteer fundraising would be welcome. Some tools can be provided but volunteers will need to provide some of their own including brushes, rollers etc. as required.
Parking facilities are limited however volunteers can park in the street nearby. Community group will provide teas/coffees, biscuits however volunteers will need to provide their own lunch.
Disabled toilet facilities are also available.
Volunteers to wear robust and suitable outdoor clothing and shoes.
