Mark can support on a wide range of topics including any sensory aspects, demand avoidance, schooling, emotional support and more. He is also particually knowledgable around challenging behaviours, puberty and sex education.


This session is 25 minutes in length, and will be held online via Zoom.

About Mark...

Mark Brown qualified as RNLD in 1990 and practised in the NHS services until 2009 when he founded Special Help 4 Special Needs. Within his practice, Mark has worked in a range of services, including adult residential, children and community based.

Throughout his career, Mark has been passionate concerning a range of issues relating to individuals with a learning disability, but in the last two decades there has been an emphasis upon the sex education and sexuality aspect. This has included working with individuals who display harmful sexual behaviour including those within the Criminal Justice System and the development of a sex education programme for autistic individuals.


Mark has been teaching at Kingston University on the BSc Learning Disabilities Nursing course, as well as providing input on other courses, since 2020. Mark is now the Course Lead for Learning Disabilities Nursing and the MSCi child/learning disability nursing course.
