About this event
Are you struggling with obsessive-compulsive sexual behaviour and feeling out of control? Whether you identify with the 12 steps or prefer a more secular, evidence-based approach, our integrated recovery group offers a welcoming, nonjudgmental space to start your healing journey.
We understand that sex addiction impacts every area of one’s life – Relationships, Family, Health, Wealth, Work and Social. Our program combines the time-tested principles of the abstinence-based 12 steps with practical, secular tools rooted in modern psychology, neuroscience, and behaviour change methods. What we offer in our group. (1 x 2 hours per week)
A Dual Pathway of Support:
Explore the strengths of both the 12-step model and secular recovery methods like CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed practices.Adaptable, Inclusive Philosophical Approaches:Whether spiritual, religious, agnostic, or atheist, you’ll find common ground and support without pressure to conform to a single belief system.
Saidat Khan as the leader of this group therapy:
He is a BACP accredited Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapist, a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist, and an Addictions Specialist.
Saidat has a wealth of experience working with people from all walks of life, cultural backgrounds, religion and sexual orientation during his time providing therapies, commissioning health services and developing primary care GP services within the National Health Service (NHS).
His approach to psychotherapy is influenced by his own eventful and often challenging life experiences; which gives him deeper empathy and insight into people’ problems, past and present, and a greater understanding of why particular behaviours are adopted and used as coping mechanisms.
Structured Weekly Meetings:
A safe and confidential environment, facilitated by qualified, life-experienced therapists. Every session is designed to help you emotionally grow and develop understanding, accountability, and connection. Every meeting combines psychoeducation and group therapy.
Peer Community and Connection:
You’re not alone. The group is powerful because you will build relationships with like-minded others who understand what you’re going through without shame or stigma.
Personalised Recovery:
You will develop a toolkit that works for you, whether that includes sponsors, therapists, journaling, alternative or SMART Recovery tools, or step work.
