About this event
Traumatic dentoalveolar injuries: diagnosis and update on management options will be presented by Ingrid Tundo, Lecturer in Small Animal Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dental or dentoalveolar traumatic lesions include lesions affecting the tooth tissues (enamel, dentin, cement and dental pulp - dental trauma) and lesions to support structures (gingiva, periodontal ligament and alveolar bone, as well as to the root cement – periodontal traumas). The prevalence in dogs and cats is quite high. Although they often cause a certain degree of pain, this trauma (especially dental fractures) is often accompanied by non-specific and/or hardly recognizable symptoms. Furthermore, it is often underestimated because any clinically recognizable complications develop a while after the traumatic event. Traumatic injuries can lead to periodontal and/or endodontic compromise of dental elements and must therefore be diagnosed and treated appropriately. After this clinical club session you will be able to recognise these traumatic lesions and you will improve your decision-making skills.
We hope you will join us for our informative, enjoyable and relaxed CPD sessions, led by senior Dick Vet Clinicians. There is at least one CPD point per session.
The link will “go live” at 7pm and the webinar will start at 7:30pm.
Please note a link will be sent out to you before the session.
