This is a two-part training session and is appropriate for all teaching staff working with children and young people, however, School Sencos and Class Teachers may find this training particularly helpful.

These sessions will allow you to:

· Understand the nature of DLD and how difficulties with language may present in the classroom

· Consider the impact of DLD on the child/young person’s life

· Learn strategies that can be used and applied in everyday teaching to support children with DLD

· Know where to go for further information/support if needed

These training sessions will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams. A link to where you can download relevant handouts will be sent out via Eventbrite with the link to join the session, at least a few days before the session start date. A link for the follow up session will be emailed to you closer to the time.

Please note:

- Places are limited and there will be a maximum of 50 attendees for this training.

- Only 2 member of staff per setting can access this training (but please do contact the team directly if further places are required as we may be able to accommodate you – hct.slttraining@nhs.net)

- Please get in touch prior to the session if you have any special requirements to enable you to access the session.
