All schools work hard to ensure high quality CPD for their staff, with T&L focus that is specific and appropriate for their context. However, the opportunity to think, learn and share with a wider group of subject specialists is often a piece of the CPD puzzle that schools are unable to facilitate.Schools Alliance for Excellence are proud to work in partnership with Surrey Secondary schools by creating subject specialist networks.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, these networks provide the platform to consider the challenges of remote learning in specific subjects, and to share the thinking and solutions that each subject adopted to engage their students and support their learning. As we transition towards returning to school, the appetite to continue working together is palpable.
Teachers have voted overwhelmingly to continue the network events, seeing the benefits of collaboration, and the potential efficiency of meeting remotely on a regular basis to consider current issues for their subject. Each group is encouraged to shape the agenda around key issues for their subject. Every teacher is welcome to contribute, and to utilise the network to seek advice, resources and support. When it is helpful to share resources, these are hosted on the SAfE website for the group to use.
Please book on to all sessions till the end of the academic year.
