Clinical Psychologist and a `Group Work Practitioner of Group Analysis.I have particular interest in depth psychology - both  Jungian and Group Analytic.The workshops I run often are exploring stories and myths in groups as a way to creatively connect and examine individual and collective psychology; providing a choice of teaching spaces, seminars and groups where people can reflect on life.The reflective spaces I provide can be either “here-and-now” events where participants study what is going on in the moment, paying particular attention to unconscious dynamics and looking at the group-as-a-whole, rather than intrapersonal or interpersonal dynamics. Or events, where the group is invited to reflect on their experiences regarding a particular piece of material: such as a group discussion on a piece of literature, or, a participant sharing a work situation to be thought about together as a group.It is not unusual that learning is transformational in terms of how participants look at themselves, their roles, their groups, and organisations they are part of.These reflective spaces are for anyone wanting to experience in action how through the group‘s discussion, meeting our reactions, our connection to symbols, imagery and association along the way, we might enable each other to better understand ourselves, each other and some of the personal and collective stories we all live.Unless explicitly stated for a specific event, no particular background or experience is necessary to participate.

Reflective Practice Groups

As part of my practice, I run several long term reflective practice groups for qualified psychologists and also a reflective practice group for aspiring psychologists.

A reflective space for aspiring psychologists to think about themselves, develop practical clinical skills, along with some academic understanding, and receive emotional support on the path to becoming a clinical or counselling psychologist.This will be a closed group running for a 10 week block. The fee is £180 (£18 per session). Group members are asked to commit to attending the block of sessions to encourage a safe space and continuity in group dynamics; as such there are no refunds on missed sessions.Each session is sixty minutes. Following a welcome and time for arriving, there will be a brief introduction which focuses on a particular theme followed by a group discussion of the material. The themes to be discussed are:<ul><li>Reflective Practice</li><li>What is Clinical Psychology</li><li>Formulation</li><li>CBT</li><li>Systemic Psychology</li><li>Psychoanalysis</li><li>Supervision</li><li>MDT working</li><li>Audit and Governance</li><li>Critical Thinking</li></ul> Dates are: 07/05; 14/05; 21/05; 28/05; 04/06; 11/06; 18/06; 25/06; 02/07; 09/07.Time: 4:50 pm - 5:50 pm Wednesday EveningsWhere: Zoom Meeting RoomThe group task is to support development of reflective skills and also provide emotional support on the journey to get onto Doctoral training.
