Join the Green Keepers of Abney, a passionate volunteer group dedicated to maintaining the wild beauty of Abney Park Cemetery. As one of London’s most historic and biodiverse spaces, Abney Park is a haven for wildlife, and your help is essential in preserving its unique woodland ecology.

What You’ll Do:

  • Help with essential landscaping and conservation tasks
  • Support the natural woodland by clearing invasive species
  • Maintain paths and create a welcoming space for visitors
  • Work alongside like-minded nature lovers in a friendly, rewarding environment

What to Bring:

  • Heavy-duty footwear – you'll be working off-path on uneven terrain
  • Clothes you don’t mind getting muddy
  • Enthusiasm for nature and community!

No experience needed – just a love for the outdoors and a willingness to get stuck in. Come along and make a difference in one of Hackney’s most treasured green spaces!

Walking- Come through the main entrance on Stoke Newington High Street, keep walking towards the inner gate. The group gathers by the tool yard, which is on your left side before the inner gate. If you are lost or late please knock at the Park office which is on the immediate left as you enter through the main entrance.
