About this event
These groups are the perfect opportunity to meet with people your own age and talk to those who understand what you are going through. These sessions will be run by volunteers who either have PoTS or are affected by PoTS.
Join Our Online Craft Session for 13-17 year olds –
Get creative and connect with others in this online craft session. Our friendly hosts will guide you through a structured activity: making your own bracelet.
To take part in the bracelet-making, you’ll need:
Cardboard
Scissors
String
Don’t have those materials? No problem! You’re also welcome to bring your own craft project — whether it’s drawing, knitting, painting, or anything else you love to make.
Enjoy crafting alongside others while chatting, listening, and sharing ideas.
All levels are welcome.
Just bring your materials and your imagination!
This session is for 13-17 year olds. We will run sessions for younger children in the future.
IMPORTANT: If you are under 16, we must receive an email from your parent/guardian confirming they are happy for you to attend. You will not be able to join the session if we don't receive this email. Please email peersupportgroups@potsuk.org.
NOTE TO PARENTS: We really want this to be a safe space for those under 18 to be able to talk freely and openly. Whilst we know and understand it can be tempting to talk on behalf of your child (particularly if they are shy), we ask that you don't participate in the group. You are welcome to attend the session with your child but please remain off camera. Out of courtesy to others, if you are attending, please add a note to the chat box introducing yourself (as a parent) so people know who they are speaking/sharing info with.
We run a Parents and Carers support group via Zoom on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The joining details can be found here: https://www.potsuk.org/events/pots-uk-online-peer-support-groups/
OUR VOLUNTEERS
All of our volunteers have had references checked, DBS checks and completed safeguarding training.
We want these sessions to be as helpful to you as possible and will welcome your feedback to ensure we tailor the groups to what you need and want.
PLEASE REMEMBER
**The only person you should seek and accept medical advice from is your own healthcare professional who knows your medical history. It is essential that we do not give one another medical advice. These groups are the perfect opportunity to share experiences and you are welcome to share what has worked well for you. We must however appreciate how different we all are and what has worked for one may not be suitable for another. Our volunteers may stop a conversation if it appears medical advice is being given**
Please read our Peer Support Group Guidelines ahead of the meeting.
Participants that do not wish to have their camera/sound on are required to introduce themselves in the chat box at the start of the session and state that they do not want to participate, just observe. This is for safeguarding reasons to ensure that everyone feels safe during the session. The host has the right to remove anyone who does not comply with this requirement.
Please be aware that for safeguarding purposes, these meetings will be recorded but will not be shared. At the start of the meeting, Zoom will need you to accept that you are happy for it to be recorded in order to join the session.
If you book a space and are then unable to attend, please let us know asap so someone can have your space. Please email peersupportgroups@potsuk.org.
