Fri 12 May 2017, 09:00 – 17:00 BST
Glamorgan Heritage Coast Project was established in
1973, looking after 14 miles/22 kilometres of the South Wales coastline
from West Aberthaw to Porthcawl.
Glamorgan Heritage Coast Centre would be delighted to receive support from volunteers to maintain and improve their facilities. The volunteer activity to include litter picking at the beach, river and common areas. Practical conservation work would also include raking grass, cutting back footpaths and clearing footpaths.
Near the Heritage Coast Centre there are historical walled gardens which require continual maintenance. This would include weeding, cutting back vegetation, planting, renewing lavender beds etc.
The Centre building while in good condition would also benefit from some repainting externally and internally. Painting/staining of some outdoor wooden benches would also enhance the facility.
Breakdown of tasks: Physical work, painting, basic DIY, gardening, litter picking etc. Minimum Teams of 10 volunteers would be welcome with a maximum of 25 volunteers depending on work to be carried out.
Other Information: It would be useful if volunteers could provide some of their own tools. Fundraising though not essential would be useful and welcomed by the centre team.
Outdoor and robust clothing and shoes will need to be worn.
Volunteers will need to provide their own refreshments.
Parking facilities are readily available
