We're delighted to welcome Todd Hickerson of Mayco back to Potclays for four full-day mid-high fire workshops (Tuesday-Friday), plus a full day of Open Day demos (Saturday).

At our Open Day, we'll be running three one-hour product training sessions at 10am, 11.30am, and 1.30pm. The content (demo and Q&A) is repeated at each session. Places are free but limited to 20 at each session, so booking is essential. Due to high demand for places, we are only able to allocate one free place per person.

Free Mayco samples will be handed out to participants, and a full range of Mayco product will be available to purchase at Open Day discounts.

Mayco Full-Day Glazing Workshops

This basic to intermediate workshop is designed to help you get the most out of Mayco Stoneware, Stroke and Coat, Fundamentals underglazes, Jungle Gems, Elements, Snow Gems, Mayco Fluxes, Washes and Engobes.

Are you looking for flexibility in your firing temperatures or creating firing freedom? Todd will help you explore a variety of Mayco products that give great results from cone 06-10, and will cover the best practices of Mayco glazes to achieve new and unique looks. Through this class you should gain the confidence to take your glazes further, experiment more, and make the most out of just a few glazes. Free Mayco samples will be handed out to participants, and a full range of Mayco product will be available to purchase at Open Day discounts.

The workshops will take place on Tuesday 30/9, Wednesday 1/10, Thursday 2/10 and Friday 3/10 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Due to high demand for places, we are only able to allocate one place per person. The content of the Tuesday workshop is repeated on Thursday, and likewise for the Wednesday and Friday workshop.

DISABILITY PROVISIONS

We will always make every effort to accommodate those with physical disabilities. Our factory is a very old and rambling building (it was a Victorian teapot factory in a former life) and access to our classroom, WC’s and upper showroom is only made possible through the use of temporary ramps.
