For parent council office bearers only (maximum of two reps per parent council). However, your parent council can also nominate you to represent them.
Our 'Chin Wag' events are an opportunity for Glasgow Parent Councils to share knowledge and best practice. It gives Parent Council members a chance to ask each other questions and advise on common issues.
Glasgow City Parents Group will be hosting the event, however we will be leaving the discussion to the Parent Council members who join.
While we encourage active discussion, this forum is not for venting frustrations about your Glasgow Education Services, your school or a specific teacher.
We have 5 asks from all attendees to make these sessions productive and successful:
1. Don’t name names - parents, teachers or children. Respect each other’s confidentiality.
2. Try to keep it positive - Isn’t a forum for complaining or airing grievances with your school however problem solving can be asked.
3. No judgement - it’s OK to ask for help. There are no 'stupid' questions.
4. Be respectful and allow others to have their own opinions, try not to talk over each other though.
5. If you have numerous points or questions to put forward, please start with one at a time, to allow others a chance to contribute too.
Please do not sign up for this event if you are not an active member of your parent council or you are not there to represent on their behalf.
