BOING Kids - PlayVenture Training to Develop Physical Literacy Through Play

This online workshop is a bespoke version of the PlayVenture virtual training as delivered by Boing Kids. They are specialists in developing and delivering resources and courses to support teachers, coaches and volunteers to make their sessions more active, inclusive and fun than ever by helping children to develop their physical literacy through the power of play!

The 2 hour session will run as a virtual classroom and will be lead by an expert coach educator who will first demonstrate the mechanics of coaching inclusive and active play, and highlight the key principles of the Boing approach of learning through play. You will then explore the Boing PlayTank - an online forum of over 120+ PlayGames and helpful resources for you to expand your practice with which includes a curriculum designed to align with Ofsted and their Play Up club designed to help parent support the principles at home (approx 30 mins).

The main bulk of the session will cover ways to use and adapt their PlayGames to accommodate all children with a bespoke focus on delivering games/physical activities with a theme of Healthy Lifestyles, Environmental Awareness, and adapted activities to support children with SEND using minimal equipment and space. At the end of the session there will be a final group discussion to cover any questions and ensure everyone feels confident in their own delivery.

PLEASE NOTE: Games are suitable for Primary School children aged 5-12yrs.

Learning Outcomes:

Provide a new lens to transform your physical activity delivery making it more engaging and inclusive.
Get to know some of the Boing PlayGames that are free to use and be competent at utilising them in your setting.
Explore the Boing coaching principles and how to apply them to adapt your own activities.
Learn the power of play to excite and engage children.
Get to grips with the importance of physical literacy.

This course will take place via Zoom. The workshop will be interactive so where possible, please ensure you have your camera and microphone on so you can fully engage and participate in the training.

Post course content and resources will be provided for all attendees.

The session will also be recorded, if you would prefer not to be included in this, the facilitator will ask you to turn off your camera before they start the recording.
