Biography for Professor Wendy Lower
Professor Wendy Lower is the John K. Roth Chair of History and George R. Roberts Fellow at Claremont McKenna College and is a research associate of the Ludwig Maximilians Universität in Munich.
Lower was the director of the fellowships program at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum's Centre for Advanced Holocaust Studies, and has been a historical consultant for the Museum's exhibitions and collections since 1994.
In association with the Museum, Lower authored an award-winning study, Nazi Empire-Building and the Holocaust in Ukraine (2005).
She edited The Diary of Samuel Golfard and the Holocaust in Galicia (2011), and co-edited (with Ray Brandon) Shoah in Ukraine: History, Testimony, Memorialization (2008).
Lower's forthcoming book on female perpetrators will be published by Houghton Mifflin USA (Chatto and Windus, Random House UK).
She lives in Los Angeles, CA and Munich, Germany.
The lecture is free and open to the public, however prior registration is essential.
