About this event

Sky Writes: Rotherham: Starting to Write for TV (Intermediate)

Saturday 24 April 10.30am – 12pm

We are looking for new TV WRITERS from your area!

Sky Writes is a partnership between Sky Studios and New Writing North to find and support under-represented writers from Rotherham and the nearby areas, to develop their ideas and skills in writing for television.

Join us for a Starting to Write for TV Workshop with writer Afshan D’souza-Lodhi to find out more.

Please note, this is the Intermediate session, for those with some experience of writing in any form. You can also sign up for our Beginner session on Saturday 24 April, 10.30am-12pm, for those with little or no writing experience.

Both workshops are FREE to attend and will take place over Zoom

We’ll be covering some of the basics of writing for TV – including plot, character, dialogue and how to tell the stories you want to see on screen. The workshops will be friendly and relaxed with no need to have any previous experience of scriptwriting.

Attendees will be invited to apply for the full Sky Writes programme taking place in Summer/Autumn - Including free workshops, masterclasses and mentoring to help develop your ideas.

If you’d like to ask any questions or have a chat about accessibility requirements, please do get in touch with Stacey Sampson (Programme Producer) on skywritesrotherham@mail.com
