Event description
Ignite your imagination and get curious about your creative side in these online weekly workshops! No experience necessary!

About this Event

Looking for a way to connect with others whilst picking up new creative skills?

Come and join in Connect and Create! Weekly online workshops designed to introduce you to like-minded people, ignite your imagination, and help you build confidence in your creativity! In these workshops there is no pressure to create anything 'good' or 'impressive', instead we work together as a group, taking a more curious approach to creative exercises often stumbling onto our better ideas quite randomly! Therefore no prior experience is needed for this workshop, people of all levels of experience are welcomed, particularly beginners!

Now let's address the elephant in the room...Zoom! Zoom can be draining for sure, but these online workshops are designed to be interactive and accessible, allowing you to unwind, have fun, and make meaningful connections with others. See what others have said about previous workshops at the bottom of this page...

During these workshops you will be introduced to key skills in:

  • Creative writing (including Playwriting, free writing, monologues and duologues)
  • Storytelling and story structures
  • Character creation
  • Performance and actor training
  • Physical expression/Movement
  • Devising (inventing/creating original theatre)
  • Approaches to Directing
  • Autobiographical performance/writing inspired by true stories
  • Improv
  • Comedy writing/performance skills

During workshops you will get the opportunity to work individually, in pairs, or in small groups, responding to creative prompts and exercises to ignite your imagination. There are always multiple offers per workshop for the group, so if you find a certain exercise or prompt isn't for you, there will always be a different offer for you to choose too! You always have a choice!

Although these workshops can be attended as individual workshops, I would encourage people to take part on a weekly basis. This will allow a more well-rounded creative journey for you, enabling you to develop on skills week by week, and giving you opportunity to create something with potential for sharing in the future.

Who is this workshop for?

  • Anyone over the age of 18
  • A complete beginner, or someone returning to creative hobbies after a long time
  • Someone with a bit more experience who wants to develop their toolkit and test out new ideas
  • Those wanting to build their confidence, creativity and critical thinking skills
  • Those looking for a fun and productive way to beat the mid-week blues!
  • Those looking to connect with others online, and enjoy meaningful moments of creativity and connection.

Please note that you absolutely do not need to consider yourself "artistic" or "creative" to take part in these workshops and you need no prior experience to join the group!

You will be guided and supported each week in uncovering your creativity. You just need to come armed with a curious mind and a willingness to give things a go!

Important Information

These workshops will be taking place over Zoom, therefore you will need to be able to access the most up to date version of Zoom through a phone, tablet, or laptop. The zoom link will be emailed within 24 hours of your workshop.

To ensure everyone gets sufficient support and guidance there will be limited spaces available on these workshops. I recommend you booking quickly to avoid disappointment.

The recommended donation for this weekly workshop is £5 per 1.5 hour workshop! This amount covers my costs and enables me to keep offering opportunities as often and affordably as possible.

If you cannot afford to donate £5 please donate what you can instead, I am grateful for all donations and want as many people as possible to be able to access these creative workshops. (Please bear in mind that there does need to be a minimum donation of £1.00 to join the weekly workshop).

If you are keen to join a workshop and you are unable to pay a donation, please get in touch to discuss options. You can email me on
