What is Witch Walk?

Witch Walk is a 90-minute guided walking tour through the historic streets of York, led by the mysterious and entertaining character Ragnell Hagathorn. Expect fearful folklore, horrible histories, occasional jump scares and theatrical storytelling!

Do I need to book in advance?

Advance booking is recommended to guarantee your place, especially during busy periods. However, walk-up tickets may be available if the tour isn’t full.

Where does the tour start?

The tour begins promptly at 7.30pm from St. Helen’s Square, York YO1 8QP. Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to check in.

How long is the tour?

The experience lasts approximately 90 minutes and covers a gentle walking route through the city centre.

Is it suitable for children?

Witch Walk is recommended for mature audiences. Not for the nervous: includes jump scares. Children under 18 must be accompanied by adults.

Will the tour still run in bad weather?

Yes – the tour goes ahead rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather. In the rare case of extreme conditions, we’ll contact you with rescheduling options.
