The finale of the Wimbledon and Putney Commons' 150th Anniversary celebrations at the House of Commons in the Palace of Westminster.
About this event
The 16th August 2021 marked the 150th anniversary of the date on which the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Act 1871 received Royal Assent and the finale to our year of celebrations will take place in the stunning and fitting location of the Terrace Pavilion at the House of Commons, kindly hosted on our behalf by Stephen Hammond, MP for Wimbledon.
Overlooking the Thames, you will enter the venue through the glorious Westminster Hall, and on through the Central Lobby to the Terrace where drinks and canapes will await.
We are particularly delighted to announce that Sir Richard Peek will be joining us as a special guest. Sir Richard is a direct descendant of Sir Henry Peek, the Chairman of the Wimbledon Common Committee that was so instrumental in the preservation of the whole of Wimbledon Common and Putney Heath.
The evening will bring together all those who share a passion for the Commons and we very much look forward to welcoming you.
