These 40 minute slots have been organised for you to give a 5 minute pitch about your research idea followed by an informal chat with public involvement members who are keen to be more involved in early research development, so don’t worry if your idea is only half-formed.
This is not a slot for formal PPT presentations or serious critique. It is literally a quick cuppa with the public involvement members where you discuss your research interests with someone you might not normally do that with. They might ask you questions that you hadn’t thought of; they might tell you how your idea is important from their perspective. Hopefully they will inspire you to develop your idea further, and talking to them might crystallise your interests into a researchable idea, with patient support to boot.
A member of the public involvement team will be there as tech back-up and introductions and they can always comment on any involvement ideas if there is time.
