Join us so we can together walk 500 miles, and maybe 500 more? By walking in your local area, as little or as much as you like, you are connecting with Carers, Young Carers, Staff, Board Members and our other Supporters across Highland and beyond to create a joint walking effort. This raises awareness of unpaid Caring. Walk 500 is also about valuing yourself as an unpaid Carer and taking time for your physical and mental wellbeing by getting moving, getting the blood pumping, getting some fresh air, and noticing your environment while you walk.
We would love it if you are able to let us know how far you have walked so that we can total up all our distances. You can do this using an app of your choice on your mobile phone, or with a route planner app like Google Directions Google Maps, or you may just know the distance.
Carers Week is an opportunity to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid Carers face and recognise the contribution Carers make. Carers week also helps to connect people who have caring responsibilities with support available, and reminds Carers that you are not alone.
Carers Week is brought to life by people getting involved in activities. We hope you will be able to join us in Walk 500 as well as some of the other events and activities planned.
