The Counter Terrorism & Security Act 2015 placed a statutory duty on schools and other public bodies to safeguard vulnerable individuals from radicalisation. It is essential that schools in all phases understand their Prevent responsibilities and are aware of the current local and national context. This session will focus on highlighting current risks, local Safeguarding processes, resources available to schools, and advice from Ofsted. This session is aimed at both new and existing leaders and may replicate some material from earlier training sessions. Section 117 of the Prevent Duty Guidance states, “It is recommended that those with Prevent-specific responsibilities refresh their training at least every two years, enabling them to support others on Prevent matters and update them on relevant issues.
