Today, violence will affect millions of women and girls around the world. It’s an appalling violation of their human rights, and it holds them back from reaching their full potential.
This November is the '16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence’ when, every year, women’s rights campaigners come together to demand an end to violence against women. Events are taking place across the UK in a show of solidarity with Fearless women leaders around the world who are working to end violence against women and girls.
On December 6th, ActionAid will be sharing a platform with the Conservative Women's Organisation and the Soroptimists in Birmingham to discuss violence against women and girls, and what we can do to tackle it globally. We'll be joined on the night be Jessica Njui from Kenya, a women's rights activist who will be speaking about her work to support women who have experienced violence, including sexual violence, in Kenya.
This event is being organised by ActionAid organiser Amdeep.
The venue is fully accessible.
