Event Details

Teens and young adults are hyper-immersed in technology. A total 95% of teens ages 12-17 are online, 76% use social networking sites and 77% have cell phones. Of the slightly older age group (18-29 year olds), 96% are Internet users, 84% use social networks and 97% have cell phones. More than half of those users have smartphones and 23% own tablets such as the iPad.

In this Preston Social, we'll be looking at whether these numbers present opportunity or threat to our culture and development as people.

For this one (and of course, if someone else springs to mind, please do tell us), we have  Tom Stables. Tom studied hyperconnectivity (in context of creative design)  for his MA disseration. He is the Creative Director at 3ManFactory and is a seriel tweeter and email checker.

The last Social was in the Snug at The Continental and we enjoyed it so much, we've asked to be there again. Smaller, cosier, more intimate. It also means less places, so book on now.

As always, the format of the night:

6.30pm-7.00pm - arrive, schmooze, mingle

7.00pm-7.05pm - Introductions

7.10pm-8.00pm - Speaker plus Q&A

Afterwards - network, drink, make friends, tweet, update!
