M2 - Understanding Drivers’ Hours and Tachographs

This module aims to provide an insight into the rules and regulations regarding drivers’ hours for vehicles used for the carriage of goods in Great Britain (GB) and Europe (EU). Additionally, it provides general guidance concerning drivers of goods vehicles, how tachographs record information about driving time, speed, and distance and how they are used to ensure drivers and employers are compliant with drivers’ hours rules. This module can be chosen to remind and refresh your knowledge of the regulatory framework that governs the road transport industry.

M3 - Health & Safety in the Transport Environment

The aim of this module is to enhance the existing protection of drivers and crew, reduce risk in the transport environment and ensure that operators who follow good safety practices are not put at a commercial disadvantage compared to those who take short cuts in safety related matters. Delegates are reminded of their responsibilities under the Health & Safety Act to minimise risk on the road and on site, and of how to deal with challenges such as handling hazardous substances and working at height.

If drivers wish to have their details uploaded to the DVSA website so it counts towards their 35 hours DCPC, and their employer does not have an agreement with Fleet Source to invoice directly, then they will need to ensure they have paid the upload fee of £9.95* at https://shop.fleetsource.co.uk/product/dvsa-upload/ in advance of the course date.

*(£9.95 Upload fee is £8.75 ex. VAT plus £1 administration (which includes certificate) plus VAT).

In order for a delegate to be accredited with the Driver CPC hours they must complete the entire course and attend the start of broadcast promptly and on time.
