Join us for an Orange Beak Evening with illustrator Violeta Fernández Lópiz.
Primarily an illustrator of picture books, Violeta’s most notable works include The Forest, Les poings sur les îles and La verdadera historia de la rata que nunca fue presumida.
Violeta’s work began to gain recognition through selections by The New York Times & New York Public Library, the ILUSTRARTE Biennial in Portugal, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy, and the CJ Picture Book Prize in Korea. Recently, she was honoured in Spain with the 2025 National Illustration Award, “for making each project a new exploration of artistic expression and a unique visual aesthetic.” In addition to her picture book work, Violeta has designed illustrations for posters, clothing, shops, murals, lamps, book covers, album artwork, and apps, and has been teaching intensive illustration and creativity workshops for adults for many years.
We can’t wait to hear more about the inspirations behind Violeta’s incredible work, and to learn about her process, materials and career so far. Following the talk there will be an audience Q&A opportunity.
The event will be held online via ZOOM - the link will be sent to you directly via email on the day of the talk around 5pm UK time.
All tickets are £16 INCLUSIVE of the booking fee - and are non-refundable.
The event is LIVE - but buying a ticket will give you access to a recording which will be available to view back for one week afterwards. You will be sent a link for this the day after the event.
